What we collect,and what becomes of it.

Rock Ledge is a private residential community on Catawba Island, Ohio. This page explains what this website records about the people who visit it, and what happens to anything you choose to send us.

When you simply read the site

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is being used. It records the pages you view, how long you stay, the kind of device and browser you are on, the website or social post that sent you here, and an approximate location worked out from your internet address. That location is a city or region at best, and it is often the location of your internet provider rather than yours.

We look at this in aggregate, to learn which parts of the site hold attention and which parts of the country are interested. We do not use it to work out who you are, and we make no attempt to identify individual visitors.

Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to do this. You can block or delete them in your browser settings, or install Google’s own opt-out add-on, and the site will work exactly as it does now.

When you send an inquiry

The inquiry form asks for your name and email address, and gives you the option of adding a telephone number, a timeline, and the kind of home you have in mind. Everything beyond your name and email is optional, and you are welcome to leave it blank.

What you send is recorded privately and passed to the real estate professionals representing Rock Ledge, so that someone can reply to you about the community. That is the only reason we ask for it.

What we do not do

We do not sell your information. We do not trade or rent it. We do not hand it to advertisers, and we do not add you to a marketing list because you looked at the site. If you send an inquiry and later decide you would rather we had nothing, tell us and we will remove it.

How long we keep it

Inquiries are kept while the community is being sold, because a conversation about a homesite can reasonably begin a year before it ends. Analytics records expire on Google’s own schedule and are never tied back to a name.
